Understanding your Meta Tag Analysis results

After you hit Submit you will be taken to SEOCentro, where you will be presented with the following data, or something similar. To walk you through your report, I have used officesupermarket.co.uk as an example.

They currently come top of Google for office furntiture. Being No1 on Google will not be a direct result of all the things you will see in their report, but getting them right certainly helps.

Google PageRank

3. PageRank – You may find that your website has a Google Page Rank. If it does, then congratulations.

Google say that “PageRank reflects our view of the importance of web pages by considering more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results.”

So the higher the better. The BBC are PageRank 9 but if you are achieving 3,4, or 5 then you are doing ok.

Meta Tags / Keywords

The next section of the report shows the Meta Tags and keywords that hopefully you have discussed with your web team and they will have setup for you. A Meta keyword provides information about a web page, to help search engines find them and categorise them correctly.
