For a split second last night we appeared to have leaped 4 pages up the search results, to a magnificent No2. But this morning we have not moved from our original slot. I have checked webmaster tools and it appears that our old data is still being crawled, or at least old keywords are being picked up. This means none of the new pages are being picked up for now, but how is it that for a brief few hours all the site updates appeared to be working and we lept to No2?

This will require a little research but it looks like some kind of Google SEO search bounce. google really does like to keep you on your toes.

We discovered today that our efforts to get to No1 on Google have been rewarded, as within 2 weeks of launch our new website is now No2 for the search term “Colchester web design”. Whilst this is very pleasing it only goes to prove that by focusing on narrow keywords, we can achieve excellent results. The challenge now is to widen the rather narrow keywords across other pages on our site, so we can hit more top 5 positions for more keywords. Watch this space!

We are always on the look out for free apps that can help market small businesses and this looks like it could be another. We have yet to put it through its paces properly …. let us know your thoughts.
